Laurence was chosen to be in the music video as he has a specific look for the indie genre as he has long hair and can be dressed as such so that he will fully fit the image for the indie genre. He is also a confident guitarist which will make the performance more believable as he will be able to play the actual song which would appeal to the more musical members of the indie scene.

We decided to use Umair as the abusive boyfriend in the video as he does not represent the general image of the indie culture which will make our audience wary of him even before his character has been developed. We found this through our research of indie audiences, where we asked them who they thought would most likely be an aggressive figure. His muscular build will also connote aggression and show that he is capable of such acts.
Veena is going to be used in our music video as she is of a smaller build which will make her seem more vulnerable to our audience which will make the audience sympathise with her even before the video begins. She also has very emotive eyes which will also help us in the video as we will use many extreme close-ups of her eyes to show how she is feeling at that particular time.
I was chosen to appear in the performance aspect of the music video as I have aspects of my image that are typical of the indie genre such as my long hair cut and my dress which will appeal to our target audience as image plays a large part in the indie culture. I will be in the band which will also follow conventions of the indie culture as it is the common consensus that males from the indie genre play an instrument (usually guitar).

We are using James in the music video as he is a skilled drummer which we require in our song as the drums are prolific within the song and will make the video more realistic which will appeal to the section of our audience that actually play the instruments. He will also add to the energy of the video as he is very confident which will also appeal to the target audience.

My group decided to use Erick as he is a capable guitarist and is very comfortable on the guitar. he is also of a similar age to the rest of the band which allows our target audience to relate to him. He also dresses in the way that the indie audience will expect from an indie musician which will alow us to use this costume within the video with ease.
